Professional Development
The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, through the Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Stetson Coleman Forum for Entrepreneurial Excellence sponsor seminars and workshops designed for owners and operators of local hospitality and tourism firms. These programs are evidence of our commitment to becoming a key partner in the Low Country's hospitality and tourism economy. Attendance at no less than four programs is required (generally at no to little cost) of students enrolled in the concentration. They will afford you the opportunity to hear leading authorities address real-needs of the industry as well as opportunity to interact and network with local hospitality and tourism professionals.

- April 18, 2008, Dr.Daniel R. Fesenmaier, Professor and Director, National Lab for Tourism and eCommerce, Temple University, will give a talk on Tourism and the Internet. Location: Room 218 in Beatty Center at 12:00-1:00PM.

Professional Etiquette Series
The College of Charleston, through its Coleman Forum for Entrepreneurship and the Charleston School of Protocal and Etiquette offers a five part program designed to improve one's people/relational skills. Known as an expert in the field, Ms. Cynthia Grosso, who facilitates the program has been featured on the Dr. Phil show, authors several columns on business etiquette and is a regular guest of radio talk shows. This series is free to students. |
